Fire Safety Advocates Share Their Stories of Fire on Common Voices’ New Website (Download PDF)
June 19, 2017 – Common Voices, an advocates’ coalition determined to create a fire safe America, announces the launch of its newly redesigned website, www.FireAdvocates.org. It provides resources and information to assist fire departments and fire safety advocates with their fire prevention messages and fire safety lobbying efforts. The website features a renewed focus on the stories and experiences of the Common Voices’ advocates who have been affected by fire, whether as burn survivors themselves or through the loss of loved ones.

January 6, 2017 – On New Year’s Day morning two apartment fires raged in Massachusetts. Fire ripped through a Holyoke apartment building claiming the lives of three residents and displaced over 50 others. Fire also quickly raced through a Lynn apartment building displacing over 65 residents, many barely escaping. Both of these incidents also placed hundreds of firefighters at risk.

November 22, 2016 – Common Voices is working to promote and share information from the Coalition’s newest advocate, Sher Grogg during the 2016 Holiday season. The Advocates’ Coalition is kicking off a holiday safety campaign titled “Do it For Don” – the campaign bears the name of Grogg’s brother Don.

September 26, 2016 – Common Voices is working to provide education regarding modern fire and the threat it poses following last week’s fire in Plainfield, CT that claimed that life of a six-‐year-‐old girl and left her mother fighting for life.
